ISLAMABAD: In a significant development, a security delegation from Transport Canada completed a security audit of Jinnah International Airport on Wednesday.
According to the Airports Security Force (ASF), the delegation thoroughly inspected the airport’s security arrangements and found them satisfactory.
During the audit, ASF National Inspectors briefed the Transport Canada team on various security measures, including security deployment, entry control, screening, issuance of passes, and emergency response protocols.
The Transport Canada team praised the ASF for implementing additional measures to ensure the safety of Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) direct flights to Canada. They deemed the overall aviation security measures at Pakistan’s international airports satisfactory.
The two-member delegation from Transport Canada, comprising Transportation Security Inspectors Barbara Dudrat and Abdul Tahir, arrived in Pakistan on July 15 for the audit. They were warmly welcomed by Director PCA Shahid Qadir at the Civil Aviation headquarters.
The delegation’s objective was to assess the implementation of security protocols at Jinnah International Airport, particularly focusing on the special security measures for direct PIA flights from Pakistan to Canada.
