Fifteen people were killed, and five others injured in a firing incident in Kanj Alizai, Kurram district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as confirmed by the deputy commissioner. The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment, according to local sources.
The deputy commissioner reported that the violence began early in the morning as an exchange of gunfire erupted between the Muqbal and Tori tribes. The injured have been moved to Parachinar Hospital for medical care. Authorities have deployed additional police and security personnel in the area to manage the tense situation. Efforts are underway to restore normalcy across the district and secure traffic routes.
Police are investigating the cause of the violence, which reportedly took place near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Security forces are actively working to stabilize the area. The deputy commissioner assured the public that steps are being taken to re-establish peace.
Pir Haider Ali Shah, a former MNA and member of the local jirga, expressed deep sorrow over the tragic events in Kurram. He urged for swift measures to halt the violence and prevent further casualties.
