The President and Prime Minister extended congratulations, while a Foreign Office spokesperson emphasized the longstanding Pakistan-U.S. partnership, expressing hope for further progress and affirming that a change in U.S. leadership would not alter bilateral ties.
Upcoming OIC Conference
Pakistan’s diplomatic agenda remains focused on the Middle East. At the upcoming OIC conference, the Prime Minister will address the Gaza crisis, joined by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, who will engage in discussions with OIC leaders during the summit.
Aid to Lebanon and Gaza
In response to rising tensions, Pakistan has sent humanitarian aid to Palestine and Lebanon to support affected communities. The Foreign Office also voiced concern for Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik’s health, urging India to ensure his medical care and calling for his release.
COP29
Meanwhile, Pakistan plans to highlight its climate challenges at COP29, with the Foreign Office stressing the need to address climate impacts affecting millions in Pakistan.
In other diplomatic efforts, Iran’s Foreign Minister recently visited Pakistan to discuss shared interests, while the Prime Minister participated in the Riyadh Summit in Saudi Arabia, showcasing Pakistan’s active engagement in regional diplomacy.
