KARACHI/ISLAMABAD: Schoolchildren are hacking the websites of their schools and defaming their teachers in Karachi.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cybercrime Wing has raised alarms over the rising trend of cybercrimes among school students, particularly incidents involving hacking and defamation.
Muhammad Amir Nawaz, Additional Director of FIA Cybercrime Karachi, highlighted that a lack of awareness is driving students to engage in offenses such as hacking school websites to defame teachers.
“Parents need to actively guide their children about the consequences of these actions,” he urged.
In the past ten months, the Karachi Cybercrime Wing has handled over 700 inquiries, with charges confirmed against eight individuals. Despite limited manpower, Nawaz assured that the department is working diligently to address and resolve cases efficiently.
The FIA has called on parents and educators to remain alert and educate children on the responsible use of technology. The surge in cybercrimes poses significant risks not only to educational institutions but also to individuals, underlining the need for proactive measures to combat the issue.
