Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry announced that the first convoy of essential supplies will leave for Parachinar tomorrow. He extended congratulations to the people, particularly those in Kurram, following the successful finalization of a peace agreement between the Sunni and Shia communities.
In a statement, Chaudhry commended the efforts of religious scholars and community leaders from both sides for their role in facilitating the peace accord. He assured the public that police forces would secure the convoys, with additional support from other law enforcement agencies.
The Chief Secretary praised the cooperation of local leadership and security institutions, emphasizing that tribal elders had contributed significantly to fostering peace by resolving long-standing disputes.
Chaudhry also highlighted the unwavering commitment of both the provincial and federal governments to fully support the peace agreement’s success. He stressed that peace committees would play a key role in preventing disruptive elements from targeting the convoys or undermining the accord.
The Chief Secretary urged the peace committees to collaborate closely with the government and security agencies to ensure the effective implementation of the peace agreement and address the challenges faced by the people of Kurram.
