Greece Boat Tragedy
SUKKUR: The Additional Sessions Judge (Court-II) in Sukkur has issued notices to summon Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on January 15, in connection with the tragic boat accident in Greece that claimed the lives of 75 Pakistanis.
A local lawyer has filed a petition in the court, seeking to hold the government officials accountable for negligence in relation to the incident. The petition alleges that the lack of opportunities in Pakistan has led many unemployed citizens to seek illegal routes to foreign countries, ultimately contributing to the disaster.
The court has also instructed the Speaker of the National Assembly to ensure the presence of the summoned officials. The petition further demands that a case be filed at the Rohri police station for the failure to prevent the tragedy.
