Bangladesh has announced the easing of visa restrictions for Pakistani citizens, allowing them to apply for visas online. The announcement was made by Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Mohammad Iqbal Khan, during his visit to the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), where he addressed prominent business leaders.
Ambassador Khan highlighted the strong cultural and historical ties between the two nations, emphasizing the mutual respect and affection shared by their people. “Lahore’s rich culture and heritage need no introduction,” he said, adding that strengthening bilateral cooperation is essential for fostering closer ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
The ambassador acknowledged the pivotal role of the LCCI in enhancing trade relations between the two countries. “The people of Bangladesh hold Pakistan in high regard. It is crucial for both nations to boost their economic and trade ties,” he stated.
Regarding the visa policy, Ambassador Khan revealed, “Bangladesh has simplified the visa process for Pakistanis. Citizens can now apply for visas online, making travel to Bangladesh easier and more accessible.” This step is expected to facilitate increased business collaborations and cultural exchanges, benefiting both nations.
LCCI President Mian Abu Zar Shad welcomed the ambassador’s remarks and expressed enthusiasm for strengthening trade relations with Bangladesh. “We are keen to expand trade ties with Bangladesh and are planning delegations to explore new opportunities,” he said.
The relaxed visa policy reflects a growing commitment by both countries to deepen their cooperation across various sectors. This move is anticipated to pave the way for enhanced economic, cultural, and trade exchanges between Pakistan and Bangladesh, further solidifying their bilateral relationship.
