Security forces successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt on the Pak-Afghan border in Balochistan’s Zhob district, eliminating five militants in the process, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The ISPR reported that the incident occurred during the night of January 18 and 19, when troops observed suspicious activity near the Sambaza area. The militants, identified as members of the Khawarij group, were attempting to breach the border when vigilant security personnel intercepted and neutralized them.
In its statement, the ISPR reaffirmed the commitment of Pakistan’s armed forces to safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and eradicating the threat of terrorism. “Our troops remain steadfast in their mission to secure Pakistan’s borders,” the statement read.
Additionally, the ISPR urged the Interim Afghan Government to fulfill its responsibilities regarding border security. It emphasized the importance of preventing the use of Afghan territory for activities that threaten Pakistan’s security. The statement called for effective management on the Afghan side to ensure stability and mutual peace in the region.
Pakistan remains resolute in its efforts to combat cross-border terrorism and protect its citizens. This latest operation underscores the readiness and vigilance of the country’s security forces in addressing such threats.
