LAHORE: Justice (Retd) Faqir Muhammad Khokhar, recently appointed as the head of Pakistan’s Missing Persons Commission, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 80.
Justice Khokhar had been battling health issues for some time and was appointed to the commission just a week ago to replace Javed Iqbal. At the time of his appointment, he was undergoing treatment at Services Hospital in Lahore, raising concerns about his health.
His funeral will be held today in Lahore, with prayers scheduled for 4:15 PM following the Asr prayer.
The Missing Persons Commission, established in 2010 to investigate enforced disappearances, was initially led by Justice (Retd) Kamal Mansoor Alam.
