A network of 39 websites involved in selling fraud and hacking tools has been shut down in Pakistan following an international investigation led by the United States Department of Justice and the FBI.
According to U.S. authorities, the network was operated from within Pakistan by Syed Raza, also known as “Heart Sender.” These websites were allegedly facilitating cybercriminal activities, including hacking and fraud.
The fraudulent tools were reportedly sold to criminals in the United States, causing financial losses of $30,000 to American citizens.
The FBI collaborated with Dutch law enforcement agencies to dismantle the network. In 2022, Dutch police seized software used for counterfeiting from a suspect’s computer, which led to the initiation of formal investigations.
Meanwhile, authorities in the United States had already been conducting inquiries into the operation.
