In a tragic attack in Dera Ismail Khan, four members of the Balochistan Levies Force and their civilian driver lost their lives in a bomb explosion. The incident took place in the Kalachi Mor area, where their vehicle was targeted. The blast triggered a fire, causing severe burns to all five occupants.
The martyred personnel were identified as Naib Risaldar Noor Ahmad Kaakar and constables Rashid Zaman, Daud Khan, and Bilal Ahmad from the Khanozai Levies Force, along with their civilian driver. According to officials, the team was traveling to Dera Ismail Khan to recover a stolen truck.
Reports indicate that the truck had been reported stolen on January 13, and local police had recently notified the Khanozai Levies about its recovery. Acting on this information, Naib Risaldar Noor Ahmad and his team set out in a private vehicle on Saturday morning to retrieve the truck. However, they were ambushed by unidentified attackers before reaching their destination.
Authorities confirmed that the vehicle was fired upon before the explosion, suggesting a planned attack. The perpetrators remain unidentified, and an investigation is underway.
Following the incident, the Pishin Levies Force stated that the necessary formalities would be completed before the bodies are transported to Balochistan. Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to trace those responsible.
This attack highlights the persistent security challenges in the region, with law enforcement personnel frequently targeted by militant groups. Officials have vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice and enhance security measures to prevent future incidents.
