Railway police successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle a leopard pelt hidden in the power van of the Karachi-bound Sir Syed Express.
Authorities discovered the pelt during a routine inspection and immediately took action to prevent its illegal transport. It was revealed that the railway porter, Safdar, had handed over the pelt to plant operator Faisal Shehzad.
Upon the discovery, the railway police seized the pelt and handed it over to the Punjab Wildlife Department. Both Safdar and Shehzad were also transferred to the department for further legal action.
