A Pakistani soldier lost his life while 12 militants were killed during a counter-terrorism operation in North Waziristan from February 5 to 6.
Lance Naik Muhammad Ibrahim, 34, from Hangu District, was martyred in a fierce exchange of fire with militants in the Hassan Khel area, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The slain militants, referred to as “Khwarij” by the ISPR, were allegedly involved in multiple attacks on security forces and civilians.
The military praised Lance Naik Ibrahim’s courage and sacrifice, emphasizing his role in the successful operation. Security forces also recovered weapons and ammunition from the militants’ hideout.
A follow-up clearance operation is underway to eliminate any remaining threats. The ISPR reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism from the region.
