Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to embark on a two-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from February 10-11 to participate in the World Governments Summit (WGS) in Dubai.
The summit will bring together world leaders, policymakers, and private sector representatives to discuss governance, innovation, and international cooperation, according to a statement from the Foreign Office on Sunday.
This will be PM Shehbaz’s second visit to the UAE since taking office in March 2024. He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, along with other key cabinet members, underscoring Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening ties with the UAE and the international community.
During the visit, the prime minister will deliver a keynote speech at the summit, outlining Pakistan’s vision for inclusive economic growth, digital transformation, and governance reforms. Additionally, he will hold bilateral meetings with UAE leadership, interact with other heads of state and government, and engage with CEOs of major multinational corporations.
Pakistan and the UAE share a longstanding and close partnership, built on mutual trust and cooperation across multiple sectors. The UAE remains a key economic and strategic partner for Pakistan.
The Pakistani diaspora in the UAE, the second-largest expatriate community of Pakistanis worldwide, plays a vital role in the development and success of both countries, serving as a bridge between the two nations.
The prime minister’s visit highlights Pakistan’s dedication to enhancing its relationship with the UAE, fostering economic collaboration, and exploring new opportunities for mutual prosperity.
