On Monday, President Asif Ali Zardari met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a brief stopover at Istanbul Airport on his way to Portugal. The meeting was warmly welcomed by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
The two leaders discussed bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest, exchanging pleasantries and reaffirming their commitment to strengthening ties.
Following the brief discussion, President Zardari continued his journey to Portugal, where he is set to offer condolences for the passing of Prince Karim Aga Khan.
Prior to this, President Zardari concluded a five-day visit to China, where he met with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang, according to a press release from the President Secretariat. During the visit, President Zardari also attended the opening ceremony of the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin and witnessed the signing of several memorandums of understanding between Pakistan and China to enhance bilateral cooperation in various sectors.
