ISLAMABAD: The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) Chairman, Dr. Raghib Hussain Naeemi, has announced the Fitrana and Fidya rates for Ramadan.
Minimum Rates:
- Fitrana/Fidya: Rs220 per person
Rates Based on Different Commodities:
- Wheat: Rs220 per person
- Barley: Rs450 per person
- Dates: Rs1,650 per person
- Raisins: Rs2,500 per person
- Dried Grapes (Munakka): Rs5,000 per person
Dr. Naeemi urged affluent individuals to contribute based on their financial capacity instead of opting for the minimum amount, to provide greater support to the underprivileged. He also reminded that Fitrana is obligatory for every Muslim, irrespective of age, gender, or social standing.
Fidya for Those Unable to Fast (30 Days):
- Wheat: Rs6,600
- Barley: Rs13,500
- Dates: Rs49,500
- Raisins: Rs75,000
- Dried Grapes (Munakka): Rs150,000
Kaffarah (Expiation) for Breaking a Fast Intentionally:
- Fasting continuously for 60 days, or
- Feeding 60 needy individuals with two meals per day
Additionally, Dr. Naeemi noted that individuals benefiting from government-subsidized flour can pay Rs160 as Fitrana or Fidya.
