Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques has announced that Itikaf registration for the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah will begin on March 5.
The registration process will start at 11:00 a.m. (local time) on the authority’s official website and will remain open until all available slots are filled. Permits will be issued through the online platform based on specific conditions and criteria set by the authority.
Itikaf is a spiritual retreat observed during the final ten days of Ramadan, during which worshippers dedicate themselves to prayer and devotion in the mosque, distancing from worldly distractions. This practice follows the example of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and is considered a means of strengthening one’s connection with Allah.
The ritual will begin on Ramadan 20 (March 20) and continue until the end of the holy month. With Ramadan starting in Saudi Arabia on March 1, thousands of worshippers are expected to participate in Itikaf at the two holy mosques.
