Pakistan has made a significant impact at the 2025 Special Olympics World Winter Games, securing four medals, including a historic gold in cross-country skiing.
Muneebur Rehman from Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, made history by winning Pakistan’s first-ever gold medal in the men’s 50-metre cross-country skiing event at the 12th Special Olympics World Winter Games in Turin. His outstanding performance earned him the top spot on the podium.
In the women’s 50-metre cross-country skiing event, Rubina Qurban displayed exceptional skill to win a silver medal, adding another proud moment for Pakistan.
Additionally, in the 200-metre snowshoeing race, Saboor Ahmed and Ali Raza both earned bronze medals, contributing to Pakistan’s successful campaign at the games.
Gold medalist Muneebur Rehman expressed his happiness, sharing that this was his first participation in the World Winter Games, and he had dedicated seven years of training to reach this achievement.
