In a swift operation, police rescued two abducted individuals and apprehended two kidnappers in Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Acting on a tip-off, officers set up a checkpoint and intercepted a suspicious white vehicle. As the police approached, the suspects opened fire, triggering a retaliatory response.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sabzali Khan, the encounter resulted in the arrest of two kidnappers, while one accomplice managed to escape.
The rescued victims, identified as Ansar Abbas and Umar Sajjad, were abducted from Bannu. Authorities recovered three Kalashnikov rifles, gold jewelry, and Rs2.7 million, reportedly stolen from them.
During interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in other criminal activities. DSP Khan praised the police team for their swift action and confirmed that investigations are ongoing to track down the escaped suspect and uncover more details about the kidnapping network.
