Karachi Traffic Police have issued a detailed traffic plan ahead of the central procession marking the martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Ali (RA), scheduled for March 22 (21st Ramadan). The main congregation will be held at Nishtar Park, followed by the procession at 1:00 PM.
Traffic Restrictions and Procession Route
To accommodate the procession, M.A. Jinnah Road will be closed to regular traffic from Guru Mandir to the Tower. Traffic police will manage alternative routes to ensure smooth traffic flow. The procession will start at Nishtar Park and proceed through Numaish, M.A. Jinnah Road, Sea Breeze, and Empress Market in Saddar. It will then continue through Saddar Regal, Tibet Centre, return to M.A. Jinnah Road, and conclude at Hussainia Imambargah in Kharadar, via Bolton Market.
Alternative Routes for Commuters
- Traffic from Nazimabad can take Lasbela Chowk and Nishtar Road to reach the Garden.
- Liaquatabad-bound vehicles can use Teen Hatti, Lasbela Chowk, and Central Jail routes.
- Traffic from Hasan Square to PP Chowrangi will be diverted via Kashmir Road to Society Light Signal.
- Vehicles on Jail Flyover will be redirected to Teen Hatti and Nishtar Road.
- Commuters traveling from Shahrah-e-Quaideen to Numaish will be diverted to Kashmir Road via Society Light Signal.
- Traffic from Jamshed Road to Guru Mandir can use Bahadur Yar Jang Road and Soldier Bazaar.
Authorities have urged commuters to plan their routes in advance and follow traffic police instructions to minimize disruptions and avoid inconvenience.
