ISLAMABAD: The first cargo flight from Urumqi, China, landed at Islamabad International Airport, marking the launch of a new trade route between the two countries.
The flight, operated by SF Cargo, brought over 25 tonnes of goods, with the Boeing aircraft carrying 22,775 kilograms of cargo. The arrival was warmly welcomed by Aftab Gilani, the Chief Operating Officer and Airport Manager.
On the occasion, Gilani announced that two cargo flights will be operating each week, with plans to increase the frequency to four per week in the near future.
This new service is expected to enhance trade and provide more efficient export options for Pakistan. A spokesperson for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) confirmed that the cargo network will soon be expanded, further strengthening the commercial ties between China and Pakistan.
