KARACHI: President Asif Ali Zardari was rushed to a private hospital (Ziauddin Hospital) in Clifton, Karachi, following a sudden deterioration in his health amid tight security.
According to hospital sources, the head of state was brought to the hospital under tight security at 4 AM on Tuesday. Medical officials confirmed that he was experiencing complications due to a fever and infection.
Zardari is currently undergoing treatment in the executive ward on the hospital’s sixth floor.
Security around the hospital has been significantly heightened, with personnel from the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) and police deployed to ensure safety.
Several senior leaders from the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) were present at the hospital, alongside medical staff.
Meanwhile, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori reached out to President Zardari’s physician, Dr. Asim Hussain, to inquire about his condition and extend his well wishes.
