PSL 10
As the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 draws closer, security arrangements are being ramped up to ensure the safety of players, officials, and spectators throughout the tournament.
With matches scheduled from April 11 to May 18, the Punjab government has mobilized army and Rangers personnel in three key host cities—Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Multan.
According to a spokesperson from Punjab’s Home Department, one wing of the Rangers and two companies of the Pakistan Army will be deployed in each of the three cities.
Additionally, Special Services Group (SSG) commandos and Army Aviation helicopters have been called in to further bolster security efforts. This multi-layered approach is designed to provide comprehensive protection during the duration of the tournament.
The security personnel will be in place from April 6 to May 19, extending beyond the actual match days to ensure smooth operations before and after the events.
The deployment is aimed at safeguarding all aspects of the league, from securing the stadiums to ensuring the safety of players, international cricketers, officials, and spectators.
The upcoming PSL 10 is expected to feature a high-profile lineup of international cricketers, making it a major event for both local and international audiences.
The involvement of foreign players and match officials has prompted additional concerns for security, leading to this robust security plan.
The Punjab Home Department confirmed that a formal request for the deployment of security forces had been made to the Federal Ministry of Interior, ensuring that all necessary arrangements are in place for a safe and successful tournament.
As preparations continue, the authorities are leaving nothing to chance, with the combined efforts of the army, Rangers, and other specialized security units ensuring that the PSL 10 will proceed without any major security concerns, allowing fans to enjoy the cricketing spectacle with peace of mind.
