ISLAMABAD: The 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) begins today in Rawalpindi, with Islamabad United set to take on Lahore Qalandars in the much-anticipated opening match.
The action will kick off with a vibrant opening ceremony at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, featuring performances by top artists including Abida Parveen and Ali Zafar, promising a lively spectacle for fans.
Islamabad United, the most successful franchise in PSL history with titles in 2016, 2018, and 2024, will be captained by Shadab Khan.
Lahore Qalandars, the back-to-back champions in 2022 and 2023, will be led by pace spearhead Shaheen Afridi. Both sides boast a strong mix of experienced local talent and international stars.
In terms of past performances, Islamabad United holds an impressive record with 55 wins out of 100 matches. Lahore Qalandars, meanwhile, have secured 40 victories in their 94 outings.
