Two government employees, Nauman Hussaini and Ashfaque—both from the Health Department—have been safely recovered after being abducted on April 6 from the Domel Police Station area in Bannu.
According to sources, the captors released the two individuals last night, allowing them to return home unharmed.
During their captivity, both men had released a video message, pleading with government authorities and local leaders to intervene for their safe return.
Earlier in the day, local leaders had planned a roadblock protest in response to the abduction, but the situation has now de-escalated following the successful recovery.
Reports suggest that the release was made possible due to the persistent efforts of local community elders and leaders, who played a key role in negotiating their freedom.
