Sidra Amin and captain Fatima Sana delivered standout performances to secure Pakistan’s spot in the Women’s World Cup 2025, as the national side defeated Thailand by 87 runs in the 12th match of the Women’s World Cup Qualifier at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Thursday.
After choosing to bat first, Pakistan faced early setbacks, losing four wickets for just 85 runs. However, Sidra Amin, who scored a solid 80, and Fatima Sana, who contributed 62 runs, stabilized the innings with a brisk 97-run stand at a run-a-ball pace.
Thailand’s bowling attack was led by Thipatcha Putthawong, who took 2 wickets for 37 runs. Phannita Maya (1-19) and Onnicha Kamchomphu (1-39) also chipped in with a wicket each.
In reply, Thailand failed to chase the 206-run target and were all out for 118 in the 35th over.
Pakistan’s bowling was equally impressive, with Rameen Shamim (3-38), Nashra Sandhu (3-19), and Fatima Sana (3-39) each claiming three wickets. Sadia Iqbal also added to the pressure, taking 1 wicket for 11 runs.
