Pro-Palestine March
The Gaza solidarity march in Pakistan continues to gain momentum as thousands of people gather across various cities to express unwavering support for the Palestinian cause.
The march, organized under the banner of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), has evolved into a nationwide movement echoing strong condemnation of Israeli aggression in Gaza.
Addressing a charged crowd of protesters, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman voiced his deep disappointment at the continued silence of Muslim rulers around the world.
He urged them to learn from the example of non-Muslim youth, particularly in Western nations, who are fearlessly advocating for Palestinian rights despite facing significant academic and professional repercussions.
Hafiz Naeem emphasised the urgent need for global pressure, particularly on the United States, to hold Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accountable and to halt the relentless military operations in Gaza. “We must demand from the United States to stop this brutality. Israel will not listen until its chief patron is forced to act,” he stated.
In a bold declaration, the JI chief announced a complete nationwide strike to be observed on April 26, extending across Pakistan and including Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The strike is intended as a powerful symbol of resistance and solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine. “This strike is our peaceful weapon. It is time to show that the people of Pakistan stand shoulder to shoulder with Gaza,” he added.
Highlighting the broader regional discontent, Hafiz Naeem also shed light on ongoing grievances within Pakistan. He pointed to the Baloch community’s long-standing struggle for rights, the Pashtuns’ call for peace, and the people of Sindh voicing concerns over water disputes and canal systems.
He further noted that prominent religious scholars have declared jihad mandatory in defense of Muslim lands, stating, “If our rulers are unwilling to act, we will resist through boycott campaigns and digital jihad on social media platforms.”
Concluding his speech, Hafiz Naeem urged all Muslim nations to rise above internal differences and unite in the defense of Muslim causes, especially in Palestine and Kashmir. “The destruction in Gaza is a test of our faith, humanity, and unity,” he said, calling on the global Muslim community to stand firm against oppression and injustice.
