Pakistan’s security forces have successfully repelled a significant infiltration attempt along the Pak-Afghan border in North Waziristan, killing 54 terrorists in a large-scale operation in the Hassan Khel area, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed on Sunday.
According to the ISPR, the militants were attempting to enter Pakistani territory with the intention of carrying out terrorist activities. A swift and decisive response by security personnel averted a potential security crisis, neutralizing the threat before it could materialize.
During the operation, troops recovered a large stockpile of weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the militants.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, speaking at a press conference, hailed the operation as a major success for Pakistan’s armed forces. “This is a significant day for our security forces,” he stated. “On the night of the 26th and 27th, actionable intelligence indicated that a group of terrorists had crossed into Hassan Khel from North Waziristan. Our forces monitored their movements and launched a well-coordinated assault once they entered a strategic zone.”
Naqvi added that prior intelligence suggested the presence of handlers within Pakistan, prompting heightened surveillance and stricter border controls. “Thanks to timely information and strategic planning, our troops were able to eliminate all 54 infiltrators without allowing them to cause harm,” he said.
The ISPR reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces remain on high alert and are fully prepared to counter any threats to national peace and stability.
