PSL X Matches
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the rescheduling of two matches in the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) X, citing the imminent heatwave affecting various regions of the country.
The decision, made after discussions with stakeholders, was aimed at ensuring the comfort and safety of players and spectators during the ongoing heatwave.
The first change involves the afternoon game between Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings, which was originally set to take place on May 1 at the Multan Cricket Stadium. Due to the extreme heat conditions in Multan, the match will now be held at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
The game will begin at 3:00 PM, marking a shift from the original venue and timing. The change coincides with Labour Day, a public holiday in Pakistan, which now allows for a doubleheader at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on May 1. The evening match between Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators remains scheduled for 8:00 PM as originally planned.
In addition to the May 1 adjustments, the final match scheduled to take place in Multan between Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators has also been rescheduled. Originally set for May 10, the match will now take place on May 11, at 8:00 PM, at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
For fans who had already purchased tickets for the May 1 match in Multan, the PCB has confirmed that online ticket buyers will receive automatic refunds to their original payment accounts.
However, fans who bought tickets from express centers will need to visit TCS outlets in person to claim their refunds. The PCB expressed regret for any inconvenience this may cause and emphasized their commitment to ensuring smooth operations during this period of extreme weather conditions.
The PCB also reassured fans that those attending the doubleheader in Lahore will be able to use the same tickets for the rescheduled match, while those with tickets for the May 10 match can use them for the rescheduled May 11 game.
This move by the PCB highlights the importance of player and spectator safety, especially in light of the country’s ongoing heatwave, while also ensuring that the PSL X continues smoothly without major disruptions.
