Indian Act of War
Rawalpindi, May 2, 2025: In the wake of mounting tensions with India following the deadly Pahalgam incident, the Pakistan Army has strongly asserted that any attempt by India to impose war will be met with a “sure and decisive” response.
The declaration came during a Special Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) held at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, chaired by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir.
The high-level military meeting focused on the evolving geo-strategic environment, particularly the sharp deterioration in Pakistan-India relations since the April 22 attack in Pahalgam, Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), where 26 tourists were killed.
Despite lacking evidence, India has linked the attack to Pakistan and responded with aggressive diplomatic and strategic measures — including suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, cancelling visas for Pakistani nationals, and closing the Wagah-Attari border.
Islamabad has categorically denied involvement and offered to cooperate in a transparent international investigation. In retaliation to Indian actions, Pakistan expelled Indian diplomats and military advisers, revoked visas for Indian citizens (excluding Sikh pilgrims), and sealed its side of the main border crossing.
The CCC meeting reaffirmed the Pakistan military’s unwavering commitment to defend the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity against any aggression. COAS Munir praised the professional readiness and morale of the armed forces, emphasizing the need for heightened vigilance and operational preparedness across all domains.
The forum also voiced serious concern over India’s continued atrocities in IIOJK and the targeting of civilians along the Line of Control (LoC), condemning these as unprovoked and destabilizing acts. It highlighted India’s repeated use of internal crises to justify external aggression, drawing parallels to the 2019 Pulwama incident used as a pretext for revoking Article 370.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the recent Pahalgam attack is suspected to be part of a broader Indian strategy aimed at diverting Pakistan’s attention from its western front and national economic recovery efforts — areas in which Pakistan is making significant progress.
The military leadership also condemned India’s attempts to weaponize water by undermining the Indus Waters Treaty, labeling it a dangerous provocation that threatens the livelihoods of over 240 million Pakistanis and regional stability.
Additionally, the forum expressed alarm at credible evidence pointing to direct Indian intelligence and military involvement in sponsoring terrorism inside Pakistan. Such state-sponsored acts, it said, violate international norms and will be dealt with decisively.
Concluding the session, General Munir reiterated the armed forces’ full preparedness to counter any threat and maintain peace through strength, stating that Pakistan’s pursuit of stability, prosperity, and regional harmony will not be derailed by coercion or aggression — direct or through proxies.
