In the aftermath of India’s missile strikes on Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan retaliated by downing at least five Indian fighter jets. However, Pakistani authorities have indicated that this was not the full extent of their response, and a more significant retaliation may still be on the horizon.
This statement has triggered concern across India, with several Indian media figures and analysts predicting a potential Pakistani military operation. According to reports, Pakistan may target up to eight strategic locations within Indian territory.
Aditya Raj Kaul, a journalist known for his pro-BJP stance, suggested that Pakistan could strike areas near the borders of Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, and Gujarat. He further claimed that Pakistan may justify these operations by stating they are aimed at dismantling camps allegedly backed by India in Balochistan to promote terrorism.
Security sources within Pakistan have affirmed that the shooting down of Indian aircraft was a calculated initial step. They hinted that a broader range of military options is being considered as part of Pakistan’s response strategy.
