Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised Pakistan’s armed forces for delivering a strong and effective response to Indian aggression as part of Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos.
In a televised address to the nation, the premier began with a verse from Surah Al-Saff (61:4), emphasizing unity and resilience. He stated that India had sought to provoke a war under the pretext of the Pahalgam incident.
“Our courageous and resolute armed forces responded forcefully, compelling the adversary to retreat,” he said.
PM Shehbaz congratulated the people of Pakistan, calling them proud and dignified, and affirmed that the international community now clearly understands that Pakistan is a sovereign nation committed to defending its honor.
Following the ceasefire announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed the agreement between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.
“Pakistan and India have agreed to an immediate ceasefire. Pakistan has always pursued regional peace and stability, without compromising on its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Dar posted on X (formerly Twitter).
