ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s domestic and international flight operations faced major disruption on Sunday, with at least 150 flights cancelled across the country, according to aviation sources.
Airports in major cities including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Multan, and Peshawar were the most affected, with dozens of other flights also reportedly delayed or placed on standby due to ongoing operational uncertainty.
Sources said that:
- 45 flights were cancelled from Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport
- 38 flights from Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport
- 40 flights from Islamabad International Airport
- 10 flights from Multan
- 11 flights from Peshawar’s Bacha Khan International Airport
Passengers were left stranded at terminals nationwide, with airlines citing “operational reasons and airspace adjustments” for the cancellations.
Officials have not issued a formal statement, and it remains unclear when regular flight schedules will resume. Travelers are advised to check with their respective airlines for updates.
