The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has announced a substantial reduction in the prices of imported liquefied natural gas (LNG) for May 2025, offering significant financial relief to gas consumers across Pakistan.
As per Ogra’s official notification, the revised LNG rates came into effect starting May 1. The new prices will benefit consumers of both Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) and Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL).
For Sui Southern, the price of imported LNG has been slashed by 13.64%, reflecting a drop of $1.71 per MMBTU. The revised rate now stands at $10.81 per MMBTU, compared to $12.59 in April.
Meanwhile, consumers under Sui Northern will also see a notable reduction, with LNG prices falling by $1.68 per MMBTU. The new price for May has been set at $11.59 per MMBTU, down from April’s $13.47.
These reductions are expected to ease the cost burden on industries and households alike, amid broader efforts to stabilize energy prices in the country.
