The Bangladesh cricket team has received official clearance to travel to Pakistan for a five-match T20I series, with the country’s government granting approval to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to proceed with the tour.
The series will begin on May 27 and all matches are set to be played across two venues: Faisalabad and Lahore. Earlier reports had suggested the first T20I might take place on May 25 in Faisalabad, but the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed the original schedule remains intact.
The BCB had initially sought government permission amid rising regional tensions, particularly between Pakistan and India. However, with no security concerns flagged in Pakistan, the tour is expected to go ahead without disruptions.
PCB officials confirmed that the BCB had agreed to send the national team and that both cricket boards are coordinating closely to ensure a smooth series.
While Bangladeshi spinner Rishad Hossain recently voiced concerns over regional instability, those issues appear to have been addressed, paving the way for a full-strength Bangladesh squad to participate in the tour.
The upcoming series is seen as a positive step in maintaining strong cricketing ties between the two nations, despite wider geopolitical tensions in the region.
