QUETTA: Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir on Friday issued a stern warning to India over what he described as “unlawful and unacceptable hydro-terrorism,” according to a statement by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
During a visit to the Command and Staff College in Quetta, Gen Munir addressed officers, faculty, and students, outlining the evolving regional and global security landscape, including the increasing threats posed by water-related hostilities. He emphasized that peace in the region hinges on a just resolution of the Kashmir issue.
Paying homage to the martyrs of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, he expressed deep solidarity with their families and reaffirmed the nation’s enduring commitment to honoring their sacrifices.
“The entire nation and its leadership stand united like a steel wall in defence of the motherland,” Gen Munir said. He described the success of “Marka-e-Haq” (Battle of Truth) as a reflection of complete national unity across all pillars of power.
He also warned of India’s rising military aggression and attempts to provoke conflict. “We will respond to every act of hostility with unwavering resolve and full force,” he declared. “Any effort to divert attention from Pakistan’s anti-terrorism mission will be decisively defeated.”
Field Marshal Munir urged the young officers to carry out their duties with dedication and integrity, stressing the importance of remaining prepared for future conflicts. “Alongside training, mental readiness for tomorrow’s battlefield is essential,” he noted, praising the institution’s role in shaping future military leadership.
Earlier, the Field Marshal was welcomed by Commander Quetta Corps and the Commandant of Command and Staff College upon his arrival.
