A tragic road accident near Langar Sarai, Kot Addu, claimed the lives of six people, including women and children, and left 18 others injured when a speeding passenger bus crashed into a trailer.
The collision caused severe damage to the bus, killing the driver, two women, and two children instantly at the scene. Rescue teams confirmed that the bus had been travelling from Alipur to Lahore when it struck the trailer.
Following the crash, 18 passengers sustained injuries. Ten of the injured were transferred to Nishtar Hospital in Multan for advanced medical treatment due to the severity of their injuries. Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased and eight other injured passengers were shifted to Muzaffargarh Hospital.
Rescue and police teams arrived quickly and in large numbers to manage the emergency response, help the injured, and clear the accident site. Their prompt action helped prevent further traffic disruption on the route.
Authorities have not yet shared details regarding the cause of the crash beyond the speed factor, but investigations are expected to determine whether additional factors, such as driver fatigue or road conditions, contributed to the accident.
