Pakistan End Tour with Dominant Win in Final T20I
Pakistan ended the three-match T20I series on a high note by securing a dominant 74-run victory over Bangladesh in the third and final encounter held at the Dhaka Stadium. Despite the win, Pakistan lost the series 2-1, as Bangladesh had already sealed the first two matches.
Bangladesh won the toss and opted to field first, hoping to capitalize on their earlier momentum. However, Pakistan’s batting lineup came out with renewed determination. Opener Sahibzada Farhaan led the charge with a spectacular knock of 63 runs off just 41 balls. His aggressive innings included five towering sixes and six well-placed boundaries, laying a strong foundation for Pakistan’s total.
Supporting Farhaan was young batter Hassan Nawaz, who contributed a quickfire 33 off only 17 deliveries, which featured three huge sixes. Their combined efforts helped Pakistan post a formidable total of 178 runs in their 20 overs. Bangladesh bowlers struggled to contain the flow of runs, with Taskin Ahmed emerging as the pick of the bowlers, taking three wickets. Nasum Ahmed also chipped in with two important scalps.
Bangladesh Struggle to Respond as Pakistan Bowlers Shine
In reply, Bangladesh faltered early and were never able to recover. The Pakistani bowlers displayed clinical precision and aggression, dismantling the home side’s batting order. Apart from Mohammad Saifuddin, who managed to score a fighting 33 runs, none of the other Bangladeshi batters could withstand Pakistan’s bowling assault.
The innings folded for just 104 runs, as Pakistan sealed a commanding win. Salman Mirza starred with the ball, claiming three wickets, while Faheem Ashraf and Mohammad Nawaz bagged two wickets each.
Despite the loss, Bangladesh had already secured the series win by clinching the first two T20Is. Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi was present at the stadium to witness the final match of the series.
