Senior Journalist Nadeem Malik Awarded Tamgha-e-Imtiaz for Excellence in Journalism
President Asif Ali Zardari conferred the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz on senior journalist and Samaa TV President Nadeem Malik in recognition of his outstanding contributions to journalism. The award was presented during a grand ceremony held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr (Presidency), where a host of political leaders, military officials, diplomats, and media figures were honoured for their services to the nation.
The event marked the conferral of Pakistan’s highest civil and military awards, acknowledging significant achievements across various fields including journalism, public service, national defence, and diplomacy.
Among other distinguished journalists honoured were Hamid Mir, Mujeebur Rehman Shami, Qamar Cheema, Mansoor Ali Khan, Javed Chaudhry, Waseem Badami, Aneeqa Nisar, Ahmed Hassan al-Arabi, Saleem Safi, and Amir Ilyas Rana. These media personalities were recognised for their role in promoting informed discourse and responsible journalism in the country.

Prominent political figures were also recognised for their service. Recipients of the Nishan-e-Imtiaz, one of the country’s highest civilian honours, included:

On the military front, the top brass received accolades for their dedication and leadership. Field Marshal Asim Munir and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu were awarded the Hilal-e-Jurat for their strategic military roles.
Meanwhile, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Gen Sahir Shamshad Mirza and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf were conferred the Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military). Other naval officers honoured included Vice Admiral Raja Rab Nawaz, Rear Admiral Abdul Muneeb, and Rear Admiral Faisal Amin.
In the Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Ehsanul Haq was recognised for his exemplary service.
Additionally, ISI Director General Lt Gen Muhammad Asim Malik received the Sitara-e-Basalat, and ISPR Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry was decorated with the Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military). DG Military Operations Maj Gen Kashif Abdullah was also among the recipients.
