Munro’s Magic Lights Up Warner Park with Explosive 120
Colin Munro delivered a breathtaking performance for the Trinbago Knight Riders, smashing a blazing 120 off just 57 balls in a high-scoring thriller against St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in the 2025 Caribbean Premier League (CPL). His ferocious innings, played at an astonishing strike rate of 210, featured 14 boundaries and six towering sixes, setting the stage for his team’s narrow 12-run victory at Warner Park.
Batting first after being sent in by Patriots captain Jason Holder, the Knight Riders surged to 231/5, largely thanks to Munro’s onslaught and a commanding 114-run opening partnership with Alex Hales. The decision to bowl first quickly backfired on the Patriots, as their bowlers were punished across all corners of the ground. Munro, in particular, was ruthless against both pace and spin, targeting the straight boundaries with brutal consistency.
His innings not only eclipsed Nicholas Pooran’s unbeaten 102—the previous highest score for the franchise—but also etched Munro’s name in CPL history. He became only the second overseas player, alongside Faf du Plessis, to register two CPL centuries.
Patriots’ Late Charge Falls Short Despite Holder’s Heroics
In response, the Patriots posted 219/7, falling just two hits shy of a successful chase. A sluggish start—managing just 23 runs in the first three overs—proved costly despite a valiant effort from Jason Holder, who top-scored with 44. The middle order attempted a recovery, but the target proved just out of reach.
Munro’s display earned him the Player of the Match award and catapulted the Knight Riders to the top of the standings alongside Guyana Amazon Warriors with a win in their opening match. Meanwhile, the Patriots slipped with two defeats in three games after an initial win.
