China and Pakistan have once again reaffirmed their long-standing strategic partnership, highlighting the role of the Pakistan Army in ensuring regional peace, security, and bilateral cooperation.
During a recent high-level meeting, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi praised the Pakistan Army, describing it as a vital pillar of national stability and a steadfast guardian of China-Pakistan friendship. He emphasized that the military has consistently supported the implementation of key decisions made by the leadership of both nations.
Wang Yi noted that strengthening ties between Beijing and Islamabad holds immense significance amid global uncertainties. According to him, this partnership not only benefits both nations but also contributes to peace and stability in the wider region. He further added that China has always prioritized Pakistan in its neighborhood diplomacy, considering it a trusted and reliable partner.
The Chinese Foreign Minister acknowledged that, despite global and regional challenges, the bond between the two countries has only grown stronger over time. This enduring friendship, he stressed, reflects a deep-rooted tradition of mutual support and cooperation. Wang Yi also assured that China would continue to back Pakistan in safeguarding its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of the Pakistan Army, reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to this partnership by describing China as the country’s “iron brother.” He stated that Pakistan and China have consistently stood by each other during moments of triumph and adversity. He highlighted that maintaining close ties with Beijing is a unified stance embraced by the entire Pakistani nation.
Expressing gratitude to China’s leadership, Field Marshal Munir acknowledged Beijing’s valuable role in supporting Pakistan’s economic growth and social development. He underlined that the Pakistan Army remains committed to promoting counter-terrorism efforts, enhancing security cooperation, and ensuring stability in the region.
Importantly, he assured that all necessary steps will be taken to safeguard Chinese nationals, institutions, and development projects in Pakistan. With Chinese investments playing a vital role in Pakistan’s infrastructure and energy development, the safety of Chinese personnel remains a top priority for Islamabad.
The Pakistan Army Chief emphasized that both countries will continue to work closely in advancing their shared vision of progress and prosperity. He added that Pakistan would further strengthen its cooperation with China to ensure mutual development and reinforce the foundation of the China–Pakistan strategic partnership.
The meeting between Wang Yi and Field Marshal Asim Munir underscores the strength and resilience of China-Pakistan relations. Built on trust, mutual respect, and shared strategic interests, the partnership is often described as being “higher than the mountains, deeper than the oceans, and stronger than steel.” Both sides appear committed to ensuring this legacy continues to thrive, particularly in an era of shifting global dynamics.
