Serene Air Grounded After Failing to Meet Safety Standards
The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) has suspended Serene Air’s Air Operator Certificate (AOC), effectively halting all of the airline’s domestic and international flights. The suspension follows the airline’s failure to meet the required safety and regulatory standards for operating commercial flights.
In a statement issued by the authority, all aircraft in Serene Air’s fleet have been declared unfit for flight, prompting the immediate suspension. The Director of Flight Standards officially notified the airline’s management in writing and ordered the return of its AOC.
“The airline failed to comply with the rules and regulations governing air operations,” the PCAA noted, citing multiple non-compliance issues as the basis for the decision.
Stranded Aircraft in Saudi Arabia Adds to Airline’s Troubles
A spokesperson for Serene Air acknowledged the situation and revealed that one of its aircraft is currently grounded in Saudi Arabia due to a bird strike. The airline has formally requested permission from the CAA to allow the aircraft to return to Pakistan, as passengers remain stranded.
The suspension is a major setback for Serene Air, which has struggled with operational consistency in recent months. The PCAA has emphasized that the suspension will remain in place until the airline complies with all necessary regulations and demonstrates that its fleet is safe for passenger travel.
Passengers are advised to contact the airline or relevant authorities for updates regarding flight rescheduling or refunds.
