NEPRA Announces Relief for All Consumers
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved a reduction of Rs0.48 per unit in electricity rates for consumers across Pakistan, including K-Electric customers. The cut comes under the monthly fuel adjustment mechanism and will be reflected in electricity bills issued this month.
Financial Relief Worth Over Rs5 Billion
According to NEPRA, the reduction is expected to provide relief exceeding Rs5 billion for households and businesses nationwide. The step is part of NEPRA’s routine review of tariffs to accommodate fluctuations in fuel costs.
The move aims to ease the financial burden on consumers while maintaining stability in the energy sector. NEPRA’s timely intervention ensures that electricity prices remain aligned with global fuel cost trends, offering much-needed relief to millions of electricity users.
