Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir attended the closing ceremony of the 45th Pakistan Army Rifle Association (PARA) Central Meet 2025. The event was hosted at the Army Marksmanship Unit (AMU) in Jhelum, showcasing top-tier shooting skills across Pakistan’s armed forces.
The meet, held from October 1 to November 10, 2025, included over 2,000 participants from the Army, Air Force, Navy, Civil Armed Forces, and rifle associations from Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and the federal territory. Competitors demonstrated exceptional skill and precision throughout the tournament.
Highlights of PARA 2025
The Pakistan Army secured top honors, winning the 3rd Inter-Services Combat Shooting Championship 2025 by dominating all four inter-services matches.

The Punjab Regiment clinched the Unit Firing Proficiency Match Group-I.

Sepoy Muhammad Irfan of the Punjab Regiment was named Master at Arms.

Naib Subedar Umar Farooq of the Army Marksmanship Unit won the Army Hundred Rifle Match Trophy.
The competition emphasized precision, discipline, and tactical skill, reflecting the core objectives of military marksmanship training.
COAS Commends Excellence in Shooting
During his interaction with participants, Field Marshal Munir praised the high standard of marksmanship and reiterated that “mastery in shooting must remain a core objective of military training.” He highlighted the importance of maintaining and improving shooting skills as a critical component of operational readiness.
Centenary Celebrations of Military College Jhelum
After attending the PARA closing ceremony, the COAS Asim Munir also participated in the centenary celebrations of Military College Jhelum (MCJ) as the chief guest.

He inaugurated the Centenary Monument and the College Museum, marking a hundred years of excellence.

The Field Marshal appreciated MCJ’s role in fostering leadership, discipline, and patriotism among its cadets.

Additionally, the COAS laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada, paying tribute to the nation’s martyrs. Upon arrival, he was warmly received by the Commander Rawalpindi Corps and the Inspector General Training and Evaluation (IGT&E).
