ISLAMABAD: The Federal Cabinet has sacked Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of two power distribution companies _ Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) and Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO).

Abdul Jabbar Khan was working as CEO of PESCO while Noor Ahmed Soomro was the CEO of HESCO, who have been removed by the federal cabinet on the recommendations of the Power Division.
The Power Division was not satisfied with the performance of the CEOs of both the Discos regarding recovery of arrears and losses. The Boards of both the Discos have also expressed their displeasure over their performance.

It was learnt that the Power Division officials were evaluating the performance of the CEOs of other power distribution companies in the country.
Line losses and recovery of outstanding are two major issues involving billions of rupees of the power distribution companies. Hence, recovery of dues and reducing line losses are considered important for the performance of the CEO and the company as well.
