ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today appeared before the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in the missing persons case hearing.
“The court summoned the PM Shehbaz Sharif because of a major issue _ the missing persons case,” IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah said at the start of the hearing, as PM Shehbaz Sharif walked to the rostrum.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif told the court that he has formed a cabinet committee to look into the missing persons matter. He said that it becomes very painful when family members of missing persons ask him about their loved-ones (missing persons).
He said that a child today asked him to recover his father. “It is my duty to recover the missing persons,” PM Shehbaz said in the court.
During hearing, Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court said that in some cases, the missing persons were recovered but no action was taken against their kidnappers (those involved in enforced disappearance)j.
Chief Justice also stated that the enforced disappearances were in violation of the Constitution of Pakistan.
Chief Justice regretted that the court sent this case to the previous (PTI) government but no action was taken.
Islamabad High Court is still hearing this case and the story will be updated further.
