ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) suspended a notification of the Election Commission of Pakistan in which the ECP de-notified 11 PTI members of the National Assembly.
IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah issued the written order on Saturday, a day after stating that PTI’s en bloc resignations have become suspicious as an MNA, Abdul Shakoor Shad from Karachi said he did not resign from his National Assembly seat.

Earlier, National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf accepted the resignation of these 11 PTI members while the election commission de-notified them and announced by-elections.
According to the notification, the NA speaker had accepted the resignations of the following PTI MNAs along with their constituencies:
- Ali Muhammad Khan — NA-11, Mardan-III
- Fazal Muhammad Khan — NA-24, Charsadda-II
- Shaukat Ali — NA-31, Peshawar-V
- Fakhar Zaman Khan — NA-45, Kurram-I

Meanwhile, former prime minister Imran Khan decided to contest by-elections from nine constituencies himself.
Moreover, PTI MNA Abdul Shakoor Shad challenged his resignation in the IHC, stating that he had expressed solidarity with the 123 MNAs who had left their seats, but never resigned.
IHC CJ Minallah heard Shad’s case and directed him to continue working as an MNA and also nullified the ECP notification that de-notified him.
