ISLAMABAD: The security of Prime Minister office has been tightened to avoid further leakage of audios.
In the recent meeting of the federal cabinet, audio leaks issue was also discussed in detail and the cabinet supported a strategy to put an end to security breach at the PM Office.
Consequently, Director General of Cyber Security is being appointed to eliminate audio leaks culture while no one will be allowed to take cellphone inside the PM House.
The leaked audios, so far, involved PM Shehbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, Federal Ministers Khawaja Asif, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and PTI chairman Imran Khan (when he was PM) and his principal secretary Azam Khan.
Meanwhile, after the federal cabinet meeting, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said in a press conference that the PTI’s suspected plot “caused unbearable harm [to Pakistan] and vowed to take legal action against those involved in the leak”.
Rana Sanaullah read out from a transcript of the leaked conversation and said Mr Khan had hatched a conspiracy to fulfill his “anti-state agenda”, an causing immense damage to Pakistan.
Mr Sanaullah claimed that “power hungry” Imran Khan was creating anarchy and chaos in the country and the audio leak had fully exposed him before the nation.
Also, in the National Security Council meeting, it was decided to conduct a high-level probe to identify the culprits behind the audio leaks from the Prime Minister House.
