ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court today dropped the contempt of court case against Chairman PTI Imran Khan. The court also trashed its show-cause notice to Imran Khan in this case.
In a decision, IHC said that keeping in view the cooperation and behavior of PTI chairman, the court has decided to drop the contempt case in connection with PTI chief’s threats to female judge Zeba Chaudhry.
Imran Khan appeared in the Islamabad High Court on Monday noon before the start of the case hearing.

PTI leaders Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Babar Awan and others are also accompanying Imran Khan.

Islamabad High Court today resumed the hearing of the case and dropped contempt charges within few minutes of hearing of the case after Khan appeared in the court. Last week, PTI chairman went to the court of female judge Zeba Chaudhry to seek apology, but the judge was not present in the office at that time.
Earlier, in his second reply to the Islamabad High Court, Imran Khan regretted his remarks against judge Zeba Chaudhry and apologised in the court saying he would himself meet the female judge and apologise from her.
A larger bench, headed by IHC Cheif Justice Athar Minallah and comprising Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, and Justice Babar Sattar, resumed the hearing at 2:30pm.
At a hearing on September 22, Khan had surprisingly apologised before the IHC and assured the bench that he would not issue such a statement again, leading the court to delay his indictment.
However, for the third time Imran Khan avoided unconditional apology in the contempt case as he submitted his response to IHC last week.
