ISLAMABAD: PTI is leading on six seats of National Assembly out of eight seats as unofficial results from eight National Assembly and three Punjab Assembly seats are pouring in.
According to initial incomplete results, PTI is emerging winner on six NA seat _ NA-22 Mardan; NA-24 Charsadda; NA-31 Peshawar; NA-118 Nankana Sahib-2; NA-239 Korangi Karachi; and NA-108 Faisalabad-8, while PPP is maintaining its lead in two constituencies of National Assembly _ NA-157 Multan-4 and NA-237 Malir Karachi PPP.
Daughter of PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Mehar Bano Qureshi, is going to lose the seat as PPP candidate Syed Ali Moosa Gilani and son of former Prime Minister and PPP leader Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani is emerging as a winner with a big margin.
On Sunday, by-elections were held on eight NA seats and three provincial assembly seats.
The counting of votes started at 5pm, after the polling time ended. Sporadic clashes were reported in some constituencies during the by-polls.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) said that overall, the polling process was peaceful, and the commission’s central control room received 15 complaints of code violations.
A spokesperson for the ECP said that most of the complaints were related to clashes between the workers of political parties and other minor issues.
The constituencies where polling is taking place are: NA-22 Mardan-III, NA-24 Charsadda-II, NA-31 Peshawar-V, NA-108 Faisalabad-VIII, NA-118 Nankana Sahib -II, NA 157 Multan-IV, NA-237 Malir-II, NA-239 Korangi, Karachi-I.
The by-poll on NA 45, a tribal area seat, was postponed due to the law and order situation.
